We welcome a new (returning!) director for 2015-2016
The Germantown Chorus thanks Catherine Feazell for three great years of artistic leadership and service. Opportunities have arisen for her, however, and the time has come for her to retire from the position of Artistic Director of our chorus. After many hours of deliberation by the Search Committee, and many wonderful applicants, a decision has been reached for the next director of the Germantown Chorus - Tommy Gaines. His name may be a familiar one, as he was Artistic Director for our chorus in the past. Though we will miss Catherine, we look forward to Tommy's direction in the coming years.
We will have a Feazell Farewell celebration for Catherine on June 26 at 7:00 pm as a send-off for her. Feel free to stop by to wish her luck in her future endeavors. St. George's Episcopal Church, Parish Hall, 2425 S. Germantown Rd.
We spent time with our three finalists last night (4/28) at rehearsal. Stay tuned as we make our final decision for Catherine's successor. It's going to be tough!
Calling all directors!
Normally, our line is "Calling all singers!", but we are currently conducting a search for a new director starting with the 2015-2016 season. We wish Catherine the best of luck in her upcoming position of President of the Mississippi chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. If you would like more information on the director position, please see our Director Search page here on the website.
It's not too late!
Rehearsals begin Monday, January 19th. Join us for Mendelssohn's Elijah, performed in conjunction with the Germantown Symphony Orchestra and Oxford Civic Chorus!
