Imagining Seasons concert update

(3/20/21) The Imagining Seasons concert will be on Saturday, April 30th, at 3:00 pm. It will consist of music and poetry with seasonal themes, and will no longer be a fundraiser with items for sale. Please join us for what will hopefully be a beautiful afternoon! Outdoor seating will be limited, so bring your own chairs and blankets if you like.

Let's get back to rehearsals!

(1/18/22) We return to rehearsals on Monday, January 31st to prepare for our spring concert, Imagining Seasons, on April 30th. A concert based around the four seasons with music and poetry, along with a display of season-themed art and crafted items available for purchase as a fundraiser. Songs will include:
  • "Spring" by Gustav Holst
  • "Talvilaulu" by Kathryn Rose (both English and Finnish text)
  • "Sumer is icumen in" by an unknown Medieval composer (one of the oldest known part songs written in English)

**This concert will be outdoors. More details to come, in addition to a possible rain date.

Thinking of joining us? Let us know if you are, or if you still have reservations. If there is enough interest, we may do "hybrid" rehearsals since our concert will be outdoors. Hybrid rehearsals are when most singers attend the rehearsal in-person, while others can join in online. Those online will be able to hear the singers that are singing "around them".

Update on the Holiday Concert

(11/2/21) It has been recently decided that the Chorus will not be performing with the Germantown Symphony Orchestra at GPAC this year. Unfortunately, we just don't have the number of singers needed. Many of our members are still sitting out the pandemic at home, and the logistics didn't quite work out with the high school groups we were collaborating with. We look forward to a day in the future when we can once again have a large choir on the same stage as the orchestra.

You can still hear us at the Germantown Tree Lighting on November 26th! And the GSO will have an abbreviated concert on December 11th with soloists.

Holiday music incoming!

(10/9/21) We will begin rehearsals of holiday repertoire on October 18th. The annual Germantown Tree Lighting ceremony will return to being a live event this year! We are also currently planning the annual Holiday Concert with the orchestra at GPAC.

An update to the Chorus' Covid-19 policy

(8/8/21) Due to updated guidance from the CDC and other professional and arts organizations, the Chorus Board has made the decision to require all singers at this time to be fully vaccinated. Masks will be strongly recommended, but not required. You can read our current Covid-19 guidelines here.

Stay in tune with the Chorus!
